Our family of three consists of mum and dad, and eleven year old son, Ryan. We love Escot Park as its nice and convenient to us and our son hasn't got bored of going there yet. It's set in a lovely woodlands with lots of space and things to do dotted all over the place. These are predominantly park type play areas such as tyre swings, rope bridges, slides and climbing areas. You can go for forest walks and there are lots of areas to have picnics. They have animals including pigs, birds of prey and otters. There are things to for all the family, young or old. It hasn't got a commercial feel to it which is nice. They have plenty of play areas indoor and out and a maze, which I won't be going in again as we had to cheat and squeeze our way through the railings because we couldn't find our way out! It's a place where you can spend all day, and the last time we went we noticed that they are offering summer camps for children aged 8 - 12 years. They also have lots of events including festivals and concerts. The facilities are accessible and very clean. They have a lovely restaurant with a choice of snacks to cooked meals. They also have a great selection of homemade cakes and biscuits. It costs £7.50 per adult, £6.50 for a child or £26.00 for a family of four. We opted to get the family pass and they refund you the cost of your initial tickets if you opt for this following visiting.
My top tips:
Although the restaurant is lovely, I think it's quite pricey. As its set in such nice grounds we tend to take a picnic and maybe just have a coffee and cake as a treat sometimes. Heels aren't a great footwear option for Escot, but if you must be prepared as the pathways have been kept as natural as possible and some are a bit rickety.
