I work as a Youth Coach, supporting young people to overcome negative thinking and achieve their potential. I have recently delivered my SHIFT programme to a group of teenage mum's to-be. The programme involves six SHIFTS. I used FINK cards to generate group discussion in between each SHIFT. I thought they would be useful to 'break state' in between each exercise. The group responded really well. I asked a member of the group to choose a card and read out the statement, fact or statistic to the rest of the group. It was really interesting how the girls were drawn to the pink cards each time, which were all concerning sexual health and teenage pregnancy, really appropriate to this particular group. Fantastic cards, which I am going to use as part of future SHIFT programmes.

My top tips: Great to use as an ice-breaker with a group of young people, especially when the facilitator is unknown to the group. Also good to involve the 'quiet' ones in the group
