Free help yourself Art Cart available every afternoon 1.30-3.30 during school holidays until 22 August. Free 'Decorated Boxes' activity 3 August 10.30-12. My boys and I try to attend these free sessions every school holiday - plenty space to get crafty and usually not too hectic. Older children seem to like the directed activities but there's always stuff to keep littlies happy - crayons, cutting and sticking etc.

My top tips: Great for exploring artwork you may not have discovered before. Check out www.twmuseums.org.uk/kids
