I attended a wedding reception at Langley Castle last week and just had to post about how fabulous it was. It's a stunning venue both inside and out. Located just off the A69 near Haydon Bridge, it's perfect for a romantic break away, or even a lovely evening out. If you are planning a wedding in the NE, then think seriously about having it here. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful and this lasted all day and night. The food for the wedding was amazing and you couldn't fault the service. There is a drawing room, complete with open fire and comfy sofas for after dinner drinks as well as a really fab high window seat, that all the kids loved. We stayed in the Castle View Rooms, which is about 1 minute from the castle and which were lovely and traditionally decorated, and came with a family of peacocks outside. The rooms in the castle are a but more expensive but having had a quick look in one, they are amazing! Four poster beds, separate dressing rooms, fabulous bathrooms and a lounge area. I think they are all different, but the quality of the decor and the finish is brilliant. Breakfast the next day is included in the price and you are given a big choice of options. The Full Northumbrian Breakfast hit the right mark and is very big. The residents bar stays open late, and the prices of the drinks are not extortionate like you find with other hotels.
My top tips:
Great if you are looking for a romantic meal out / weekend away.
