My son has been attending Magikats maths classes in Farnham for almost three years. Magikats has helped his confidence enormously. Before Magikats he assumed maths was very difficult and something he couldn't do. His attitude began to improve from his very first session at Magikats. Three years on, he is now so much more positive about maths; he believes he is good at maths and is now much more willing to have a go at anything he finds difficult. As a parent there is great support from the Magikats team. Jan Lomas has been working with my son for almost three years and arguably knows him better that any teacher who has known him for only a year. The feedback your receive on your child is very good and you feel as if you can ask anything, anytime. |

My top tips: If your child is suffering from a lack of confidence, Magikats can help from the very first fun session. |

Magikats is an English and Maths program, we have 3 children who attend the maths program, ages 17,14 and 11. Emma who runs the Guildford branch is very tuned in, to each individual child. They each have their own folder with work aimed at their level so you could have 2 children at the same age but covering different aspects of work,so it is geared solely for your child working at their pace. They attend weekly workshops and have a time slot. They also have award ceremonies where the children receive certificates and medals for their achievements. Before they can move on to the next module they have to pass the bench tests. The program makes the children more comfortable and confident when dealing with maths. Emma is always there at the end of the phone if you need to discuss areas that you want to concentrate on, or anything else that worries you, there is also a SATs and GCSE programs if your child is at that stage,it now also goes upto A level. It is not a short term fix but more long term continuity which reinforces and builds their understanding for the next chapter or topic. |

Magikats is an effective way to help your child with maths if they are struggling or just to reinforce what they already know by using the correct methods. Emma encourages all children and will email to have 'a quiet word' if she has any concerns which is great to know she is looking out for each child as an individual. Children can start at any age from very early primary right up to A level so they become part of a group and get to know other children. |

My three boys, now 11, 9 and 8, have been attending MagiKats in Guildford for the past 3 years. MagiKats has certainly helped them gain confidence in maths and literacy. The tuition system counts on a session per week in small groups and one exercise per day per subject to do at home. Emma Lomas who is in charge of the Guildford branch is really tuned in with the children, knows their needs and how to get the best out of them. All the boys have shown a constant improvement in their performance since attending MagiKats! If you want to offer your child extra tuituion, either because he/she struggles or because you feel he/she needs to be pushed more I definitely recommend you to speak to Emma and she will be able to advise you. |

Great way for your child to stay top of the class. Enjoyable weekly class sessions with other children of same ages. A little bit of work to do at home on a daily basis with a day off included. My son aged 8 really enjoys doing the work and finds school work easier as he has covered the topics at Magikats already. Continues in school holidays aswell really good over the summer as continuity is good. |

Nicholas attended Magikats as we saw him struggle with his year five maths. Without exherting any pressure on him, Magikats personal, flexible and subtle approach to the problem soon underpinned Nick's fundamental grasp of maths leaving him free and more confident to approach his school work. An unobtrusive, somewhat covert but effective method to address any problem areas and more important Nick looks forward to his sessions, he is now in his year seven and has very good reports from his maths teacher. Resounding success. |

My son attended Magicats from 2005 to 2009, as he has dyslexia and adhd and was struggling to keep up at school. The support he got from Jan Lomas and her team really gave him confidence and took some of the pressure away from me as it was always a worry as to how we were going to get him through his GCSEs, as he wasnt responding well to the curriculum support he was getting at school. As we approached exam time the team at Magicats helped prepare for exams and much to the schools surprise He got Cs in English, English Literature and Maths. Cannot recommend this scheme enough. |

My top tips: Ideal as a short term solution if your child is lagging behind in either maths or english or as an ongoing thing all the way through school |
