Last minute idea for lunch. Never been to Nando's before but seen them about loads. Very pleasantly surprised. Basically a restaurant that deals with Chicken in spices of strengths of your choosing. From burgers to chicken joints, this is the place to go if you dont fancy your chicken coated in a secret blend of spices like other places around. The place is spotless and the staff friendly and obliging. The food was a surprise hit. Who would have thought chicken could be so interesting! The price was reasonable for what we got. I did not feel cheated by what was paid and what we got for our money.
My top tips:
"Free" refills of fizzy pop although I suppose we already paid for that privilege. The big hit for us is that NHS staff on production of an ID badge get 10% discount. Good value if there is a big party of people

I've been to this restaurant a few times and would say its great for people of all ages. It right in the centre of Newcastle and this location only recently opened in 2008, in the newly developed Eldon Square. The food is all about Portuguese peri peri chicken dishes. We found the staff to be friendly and it was great food and service from start to finish. Cost wise its reasonable, it cost £20 For 2 adults for 2 mains and drinks.
There were facilities for everyone, including disabled access to all areas and baby changing facilities. They had high chairs too. Our party was 2 adults and 1 child age one year.
My top tips:
1. Staff were willing to heat up our little one’s dinner in their microwave – pays to ask
2. They have the menu and prices on their website
www.nandos.co.uk
– check it out before you go.
3. There are refillable soft drinks and ice cream
