I took the family here to paint some pottery and I can genuinly say that we had a fantastic time. It was great to find something that the whole family could do together. We stuck to decorating the "bisque" but there were loads of other arty things to have a go at. Definitely worth a visit.
My top tips:
We made holiday gifts for the grandparents and they loved the personal touch.

Pot-a-doodle-do is a wig-wam village at Scremeston near Berwick. In summary its posh camping with lovely clean bathrooms/showers and a fully stocked communal kitchen (if you don't want to take camping stoves etc) with oven, microwave, tv and even a washing machine. This place is perfect to take a family, especially the whole camping in a wig-wam experience. I stayed in a Yurt with my girlfriends and we had a blast wearing feathers in our hair and all the cliches. The Canvas Yurts and Wig-wams have floors(!), futons and pull out camp beds along with a wood burning stove - these are probably more for grown ups and are separate from the wooden wig wam village which is geared up more for familes. The wooden wig wams have electricity, bunks, fridges and radiator heating. The site also has a shop, cafe and the option of taking part in various crafts. The site is not far from the coastal cycle path, the Holy Island crossing and Berwick upon Tweed. Website

My top tips:
Book
a BBQ hut as you can never guarantee the weather but the hut allows you to be covered over. You'll probably have to book early especially for summer weekend breaks.
