If in Newcastle give yourself a treat and have a meal in this delightful family run restaurant with friendly and helpful staff who are efficient and unobtrusive. For the shoppers and theatre goers the early evening Pasta and Pizza’s are well worth taking the time to enjoy with well cooked and plentiful food at very reasonable prices especially during the happy hour from 5-30 to 6-30 If you prefer a later meal or for a special occasion then this is the place to be the quality of the food is first class, the service by the friendly staff really helps to make your night out special, on our last visit my wife and I each enjoyed a three course meal with drinks for under £50, the starters of Salmon Crepe for my wife and Black Pudding topped with Poached Eggs were just right to set us up for the main course of a Superb Rib Eye Steak with Mushrooms, Onions and salad with the best chips I have tasted for myself, and a Chicken Sizzler for my wife with the accompanying chips, after long deliberation the greed factor took over and we decided to have a dessert I chose the Williams Pear Sorbet which was absolutely delicious with my wife enjoying Rhubarb Ice Cream We have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions and have tried different items from the varied menu with Rainbow Trout, Seared Salmon, Beef Stroganoff and Chef’s Specials among the many dishes available and have yet to leave disappointed. The Kitchen is open plan and you can see the hard working Chef’s preparing the various dishes freshly as they are ordered The first class waiters and waitresses (one of which was a finalist in the Newcastle waiter of the year competition 2008) ensure that you are served quickly and with the minimum of fuss once your choices are made and when drinks were requested they arrived quickly after the order.
My top tips:
Try the chips they are really very tasty the best I have tasted, if you are going for a later meal you should pre book to avoid disappointment as this restaurant is very popular and gets a lot of repeat business.
