Not sure what to write in your recommendation? Here are a few tips….
1. Tell us about your family
Describe your family, for example, two adults and three children aged 6, 4 and 6 months. This helps us understand your point of view.
2. Tell us about what there is to see / do?
We know what to expect from some places such as a zoo, but with others the name of the place doesn’t really describe what it’s all about. Give us a description of what it’s like, what there is to do, what we can see or try. This gives us a better understanding of what we can expect if we choose to go too.
3. Who is it good for?
Not all places are great for all families. So tell us who you think its best for.
For example, a high-end expensive restaurant is probably not the first choice for families with small children. Similarly, a soft play centre is unlikely to be high on the list for adult groups. Also, places with lots of steps or steep climbs may not be ideal for older family members.
4. What was the highlight?
What was it about it that makes you want to recommend it? Your personal experience makes it real for us.
5. How much does it cost? Tell us how much we might expect to pay perhaps in entrance fee or the cost for food or for other entertainment. This helps us budget or know how much we might spend. Better to be forewarned – especially in this economic climate!
6. Facilities
What facilities does it have? Tell us about whether it has facilities that families might need such as toilets, place to purchase food or drinks, baby changing facilities, bike storage, disabled facilities, car parking, nearby public transport, facilities for pets etc.
7. Tips and advice Do you have tips or advice for anyone thinking of visiting? Is there a particular thing you think they should go to first, or where the best place for a picnic is, or how they might save money? Is there one particular piece of advice you would give?
8. Insider information
Tell us about any hidden deals or incentives that are offered for example, discounts for students, families, working in a particular industry etc.
