On a recent visit to Edinburgh we took some friends from America and Australia to the Scotch Whisky Experience. A typical tourist attraction but it is very interesting and informative on the distilling of whisky. You don't have to be a lover of whisky to enjoy this attraction and it is interesting during the tasting experience how different the scotch smells and tastes from the different regions. Our American friend loved it and ended up taking two large bottles of whisky back to the US with him.

My top tips: Enjoy the trip in a whisky barrel to get you from one part of the museum to the next - it might sound childish but it's great fun! You also get a free tasting glass as a souvenir as well.
