Its a group that helps children's communication skills. My wife takes our 3 year old who starts school in Sept. He has a few issues and may possibly be autistic but he has really made progress. Its not just for children with problems though. The group leader, Libby is very friendly and approachable and is able to adjust the level of the group to individual children. They play games, have stories and sing songs. She has a puppet which they love who helps her make various points effectively. There are other different Smart Talkers groups too.
My top tips: Don't be shy, sit on the floor with the children and be prepared to join in!

Its a communication group for 3/4 year olds to help get them ready for school. Its for all children but I take my little boy who has autism. They have puppets, sing songs, play games and he really enjoys it. Their website is www.smarttalkers.org.uk He's really come on since he's been going there. They have other groups too. Its free due to funding from local Children's Centre
