This is a country park centered around a large man made lake. Facilities here include watersports, a small beach, a lovely walk of about 4 miles right around the park and several children's playgrounds as well as housing 'Scotland's Theme Park'. We last visited during the easter holidays when the whole park was very quiet despite it being a fairly nice day. This time round we took the kids on a speed boat ride which was fun and only cost £5 or £6 for myself and my 2 children (life jackets are provided). There are also canoes, bumper boats, rowing boats etc. You can walk around the park or they also hire out bikes if you haven't brought your own. The theme park isn't the largest in the world but has several really big rides and plenty to keep smaller kids occupied. There is also an indoors soft play and large amusement arcade. As if that's not enough there is also a centre called amazonia which I have not personally visited but I believe is an indoor tropical rainforest attraction. The park also houses a couple of hotels with decent restaurants.

My top tips: Make sure you have a whole day free. Bring a picnic if it's a nice day.
