Situated approx 50 yards from the famous tea clipper Cutty Sark in Greenwich and approx 20 yards from Greenwich Docklands Light Railway Station. The Tai Won Mein is easily spotted by its bright yellow facade, once inside it is bright and spotlessly clean with plenty of staff on hand to seat you and serve. There is no need to book you just walk in off the street. The food is excellent and relatively cheap with 2 starter, 2 drinks and 2 mains costing approx £20, the staff are very efficent and friendly with a quick turnaround of your order. There are only bench seats at the tables and you will probably find yourself next to a complete stranger which enhances a busy and friendly atmosphere. Forks and chop sticks are provided with every meal your choice which to use.
My top tips:  The spare Ribs are the best I have tasted, make sure that you request your starter before your main meal or they may all come together.

Great noodle bar in Greenwich which is always busy with students, commuters, locals and visitors to this beautiful suburb in London. The restaurant itself is cheap and cheerful with the speed of service a talking point in itself! Noodles are not the only thing on the menu. Usual Chinese dishes with rice and the big bowls of soup noodles are also in abundance and are usually enjoyed by the Chinese and Japanese communities which were in abundance on the night we went. The starters are brought to the table not much longer after they are ordered. The usual suspects are there: spring rolls, spare ribs and chicken satay to name a few and are then closely followed by the mains. The portion sizes are more than adeqaute and are a fraction of the cost of a posh chain style noodle bar. A meal for two including starters and drinks came in at just over £20 which is pretty good for London. Definately worth a visit for a cheap eat on the move. Kids will love it too. Chopsticks are widely used but not obligatory. In fact forks come with all meals anyway. One downside. The toilets could be better, but check that for yourselves!

My top tips:  Ask that your starters are brought before your mains or they will all turn up together. Take cash as cards are not accepted.  Say hello to the person on the bench next to you,  Its a communal atmosphere so embrace it! It's unusual for a big city!
