The food was good, although not cheap. Although the venue was pleasant, the heat from the sun through the huge windows made it an extremely uncomfortable experience, despite having the window blinds down. I would not go back unless it was a cool day or nighttime.
My top tips:  Don't visit on a hot or sunny day!

Great new foodie pub just opened in Backworth. Looks swish from the outside and very plush and modern on the inside. It has a comfortable and friendly feel with is largely due to the amount of locals who frequent it. We went as a party of four adults and two children, one of which was under two. Total price of four adult main meals and one childrens meal was £41. The menu on a Sunday has the usual fare of Sunday roasts. The roast pork dinner went down well with great size portions. The boys had the New York deli burgers which were a great size too! Overall a very good Sunday lunchtime had by all.
My top tips:  On a Sunday it is best to get there for around 12pm. It started to get very busy later. Open a tab when asked by the bar staff. It is much easier especially when drinks and desserts are required as the bar gets busy too.

The Pavilion Bar and Grill is a brand new bar / restaurant near Backworth, Newcastle upon Tyne. It's a modern restaurant which serves modern British food. My husband and I visited the first weekend it opened (December 2008) and it was quite busy, but we managed to get a table in the dining area (although you can eat in the main bar area). The staff were friendly and helpful and the food delicious with good sized portions. Price wise it was reasonable, not cheap but not overly expensive, we paid around £40 for 2 courses and 2 drinks each. I really liked the bar area, it has a mixture of sofas and high beer hall style tables. The lighting of place is really well done. The place has good parking and is 2 minutes from the Northumberland Park Metro Station. I have to mention the toilets which are massive with Dyson hand driers! They also do a childrens menu.
My top tips: You can book and reserve a table.
